Mr. Samir Modi is Senior Vice President, CACCI. He is concurrently Executive Director, K. K. Modi Group; Executive Director, Godfrey Phillips India Limited; Director, Indofil Industries Limited; President, 24 Seven Convenience Stores; Managing Director, Colorbar Cosmetics Pvt. Ltd. and Managing Director, Modicare Private Limited.
After finishing college in India, he started his career working for Philip Morris U.S.A first as a trainee in the Tobacco fields of North Carolina and then its plants in Richmond, Virginia. He then joined the international division of Philip Morris and later he became the brand manager of Marlboro cigarettes.
He was a brain behind starting the first Indian Network Marketing Company – Modicare, in 1996. The company today has more than 2 million registered consultants and with the change in the direction in 2015, Mr Modi introduced new innovative marketing plan, revamped products and implemented new strategy. The business turned around and became profitable in less than 15 months with a growth of 500% in the last 3 years.
Mr. Modi is a determined man who believes in the principle of Meraki and is capable of springing magic out of the ordinary. He felt the need to create a world-class cosmetic company, so Colorbar Cosmetics was born in 2004. With 80 company owned stores and more than 1,000 plus multi brand outlets across the country, Colorbar today is the third largest player in the Indian beauty cosmetics market. . A strong element is that Colorbar products are cruelty free. The brand future expansion plans include focus on global markets.
Mr Modi launched 24 Seven retail stores in 2005 as the country’s first convenience store chain that stays open 24 hours / 7 days a week. These stores offer consumers a completely international shopping experience with a wide range of products from ready-to-eat food, beverages, groceries provisions, over the counter medicines, various convenient services and a lot more round the clock. He plans to open over 1,000 stores in the next 5 years. The retail chain is also a member of ‘’RAI’’ (retail association of India) & NACS (National association of convenience stores)
Regarding social responsibility, Mr. Modi established the Modicare Foundation in 1996, aiming to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in India. The Foundation won the President’s Award for their exceptional work in gender related issues in India. The Foundation has various other ongoing programs:

Ambassadors of change is working with children to provide life skills education Ehsaas provides support for HIV / AIDS to infected children and families
Partners in Change program partners with government, NGOs, funding agencies to build and research on education, gender equality, sexual harassment at workplace.
An alumnus of the Harvard Business School, USA, a graduate from Hindu College, Delhi University, he completed his formative education from Doon School in Dehradun. Mr. Samir Modi worked his way up the ranks in his father’s venture, and earned himself a reputation of someone whose expertise lay in conceptualizing, strategizing, creativity and setting up new businesses.
